Here is a fine Alexander Henry hammergun with Jones patent under-lever. The fluid steel, nitro-proved barrels are by J. Crockart & Son, Blairgowrie, and are so marked. The chambers are 2 1/2″, and the bright and shiny bores are choked .000/.038 (Cylinder/Full). The bar action locks are rebounding, and the gun locks up tight. The receiver features best quality scroll engraving, and the maker’s name in a flowing banner. The wood is attractive English walnut, with crisp checkering. The fore-end has a Deeley-style latch release. The Prince of Wales stock measures 1 1/2″ x 2 1/8 x 15 1/16″ over a well done 2″ extension with checkered butt. The cast is neutral. This gun weighs 6 lbs 14 oz and is ready for the field. A fine classic double from a great Scottish maker.
