Here is a fine, very usable English toplever hammergun by Charles Osborne & Co., weighing only 6 lbs 9 oz. The 30″ nitro-proved Damascus barrels have attractive pattern. The chambers are 2 1/2″, the bores are shiny, and they are choked .006/.024. The action locks up tight with a doll’s head extension. The receiver features border and acanthus scroll engraving, as well as the maker’s name. The wood has nice figure, and is solid with only minor handling marks. The fore-end is off the pull off variety, and has a silver finial. The stock measures 1 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ x 14 3/8″ over a checkered horn butt. There is slight cast off. A wonderful double for the traditional hunter.
