A fine early 14 bore hammergun by Henry Beckwith of London with 16 bore chambers. (The previous owner shot black powder 16 bore shotshells in the gun.) The black powder proved Damascus barrels have 2 1/2″ chambers, choked true cylinder in both. The gun locks up tight as new with a Jones Patent under-lever. Rebounding back-action locks. Sculpted fences. Beautifully executed scroll engraving. Horn-tipped fore-end with keyed release. Figured stock measures 1 ¾” x 2 ½ x 14 3/8” over a blued steel butt-plate. The cast is neutral. The weight is 6 lbs 11 oz. A very attractive classic hammergun.
