This is a beautiful, lightweight 12 gauge bird gun by J. S. Garden. It has 29 1/2″ nitro proved fluid steel sleeved barrels, with 2 1/2″ chambers. The bores are very good and shiny, and are choked .010/.023 (about IC/M). The gun locks up tight. The rebounding locks are crisp and function as they should. The receiver features excellent border and acanthus scroll engraving, along with a pointing dog on the trigger guard bow. The wood has very attractive figure, and is in excellent condition with no cracks. The fore-end is of the pull-off variety. The stock measures 1 1/2″ x 2″ x 14 1/4″ over a checkered butt with heel-and-toe plates. The cast is neutral. (There is a diagonal scratch in the checkering of the butt between the heel and toe plates.) This fine double weighs 6 lbs 13 oz. A fantastic classic hammergun for pheasants, decoyed ducks, or all around upland hunting.
