A very fine, lightweight, matched pair of boxlock ejectors by Russell Hillsdon of Chichester. Hillsdon guns were built primarily by S. Wright & Sons of Birmingham, who also made boxlocks for Holland & Holland and Churchill. This pair is in overall excellent condition, with the two guns being virtually identical in all respects. The barrels are 28″ with 2 1/2″ chambers, each choked .010. Each weighs a hair over 6 lbs 1 oz, and the stocks are identical at 1 ½” x 2 ¼” x 14 ¼” over a 1/2″ pad, with slight cast off. The receivers feature the maker’s name with beaded border and partial scroll engraving. The fore-ends have Anson push-button release. Each gun is its own case with accessories. A high quality pair of upland guns.
