Here is an excellent double with no issues: a boxlock ejector, built in 1896 by T. Adsett & Son. The nitro-proved, fluid steel barrels are 30″ with 2 1/2″ chambers and shiny bores, choked .000/.033. The rib is engraved: T. ADSETT & SON GUILDFORD. The gun locks up tight, and the ejectors are strong and in time. The receiver features the maker’s name with partial scroll engraving, and there are still traces of case colors. The wood is solid with no cracks or splits. The fore-end has a Deeley-style latch release. The stock measures 1 1/2″ x 2″ x 13 7/8″ over a grooved butt. The weight is 6 lbs 13 oz. A very fine bird gun.
