Here is very attractive little 12 gauge boxlock ejector by Rowland Watson. The nitro proved 30″ barrels have 2 3/4″ chambers and shiny bores, choked .012/.027. The ejectors are strong and in time, and the gun locks up tight. The gun was completed in 1903 (per the serial number on the action flats and the tang), but was fitted by the maker with a new set of barrels and fore-end around 1908. The scalloped receiver has beautifully carved fences, and features full coverage scroll engraving with the maker’s name. There is a well done soldered repair to the trigger-guard about 1/4″ from where it meets the action. The fore-end has a push button release. The stock measures 1 1/2″ x 2″ x 14 1/2″ over a thin pad. There is slight cast off. The gun weighs 6 lbs 8 oz, and comes in the maker’s case. A very good double from a good maker.
